WWII German Navy "Kriegsmarine" U-boat jacket
A rare WWII Nazi German Navy U-boat jacket.

This leather jacket was issued to submarine crews throughout the war. It was also available in black and gray leather.

This leather jacket for submarine crews is famous for being used by armored vehicle crews of the Waffen SS. It is believed that this leather jacket, which was tight-fitting, did not show dirt easily, and was warm, was used by the WSS either for other purposes or as personal possessions.

The leather used was sheepskin, capeskin, and later cowhide. This jacket is made of very soft leather and is quite strong, and is in great condition for being over 80 years old.

The lining is a light ink-colored wool lining. There are no tears in the lining and it is in very good condition. The buttons are famously naval buttons with an anchor mark, but many of these U-boat jackets that survived after the war have had their buttons replaced.

The collar hook remains, but the hanger loop on the inside of the sleeve and the label are missing.

Soft, comfortable leather.

希少なWWIIナチスドイツ海軍U-boatジャケット。

大戦全期間を通じて潜水艦乗組員に支給されたレザージャケット。ブラックカラーのレザー、グレーカラーのレザーも存在しました。

この潜水艦乗組員用レザージャケットは、武装親衛隊(WAFFEN SS)の装甲車両搭乗員にも使用されたことで有名です。タイトフィットで、汚れが目立たなく防寒性もあったこのレザージャケットを、転用もしくは私物として入手しWSSにおいても使用していたとも考えられています。


使用されるレザーはシープスキンやケープスキン、後年になると牛革が使われています。本ジャケットはとても柔らかなレザーで強度もかなりあり、80年以上経過したとは思えない素晴らしいコンディションです。


ライニングは薄墨色のウールライニングが使われています。ライニングに破れなどなくとても良いコンディションです。ボタンは有名なところではアンカーマークのある海軍用ボタンが知られていますが、これらのU-ボートジャケットは戦後に残ったものはボタンが交換されている例が多いです。

襟のフックも残っていますが、袖内部のハンガーループとラベルは欠損しています。

柔らかく着心地のよいレザー。
