On November 20, 1940, a new squadron was named the 86th Light Bomber Squadron. It was activated on January 15, 1941 and stationed at McChord Field, Washington. The squadron's main mission was anti-submarine patrol using Douglas B-18s. Over the next six years, the 86th Squadron was deployed around the world. The mission was later expanded to include overseas missions and training of personnel for combat operations.


In 1942, the 86th Bomber Squadron participated in various operations in Europe and North Africa. Stationed at approximately 20 locations, including French Morocco, Canrobert Airfield in Algeria, and Salon-de-Provence Airfield in France, the 86th Bomber Squadron supported combat operations with Douglas DB-7, Douglas A-20 Havoc, and Douglas A-26 Invader aircraft. The 86th Bomber Squadron received numerous Battle Medal and Distinguished Unit Commendations in 1943 and 1945. The squadron flew combat missions in the Mediterranean Theater from 14 December 1942 to 30 April 1945.


After the war, on 1 October 1955, the 86th Bomber Squadron was redesignated the 86th Tactical Bomber Squadron. The 86th Bomber Squadron remained in the UK, maintaining proficiency in a variety of tactical operations, winning the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for operations from July 1958 to June 1960.


The 86th Flying Training Squadron was renamed the 86th Flying Training Squadron on March 22, 1972.

Thick horse leather, coffee brown color.


The zipper is TALON. The condition of the leather is beautiful and robust.


There are no hardened areas and the leather is smooth.
The knit is also fully original and there are some tears.
The lining is beautiful and the label remains.
The snap buttons are complete and the zipper works well.
There is a tear in the knit sleeve and lining near the collar. We can repair it using the actual parts after delivery. Please contact us.

Leather patch painted with the 86th Bomb Squadron on the front.


The paint has white edges and depicts a caricatured black wolf head and shoulders. The wolf has a white face, red nose, tongue and eyes, yellow gloves, white cuffs and a worn black top hat. The wolf sneaks up from behind a large white cloud on an ominous base and drops a black aerial bomb with its right paw, highlighted in greyish reddish purple and white. In front of it are four crossed white searchlight beams and anti-aircraft guns. The right paw has a caricatured crescent moon with red eyes and a black outline.

A leather bombing mark patch is attached to the right chest.
The stars and stripes are painted on the right shoulder.

大戦後1955年10月1日、第86爆撃飛行隊は第86戦術爆撃飛行隊に再編されました。第86爆撃飛行隊はイギリスに留まり、さまざまな戦術作戦で熟練度を維持し、 1958年7月から1960年6月までの作戦で 空軍優秀部隊賞を受賞しました。


第86飛行訓練中隊は1972年3月22日第86飛行訓練中隊に改称されました。

フロントに86th Bomb Squadronペイントされたレザーパッチ。

このペイントは縁が白、戯画化された黒いオオカミの頭と肩が描かれています。顔は白、鼻、舌、目は赤、黄色い手袋、白い袖口、黒の使い古しのシルクハットを着けています。オオカミは不吉なベースにある大きな白い雲の背後からこっそりと忍び寄って、右の前足で、灰色がかった赤紫と白で強調された黒い航空爆弾を投下しています。その前には、交差する 4 つの白いサーチライト ビームと対空砲火が配置されています。右の前足には、赤い目と黒く輪郭線が描かれた、戯画化された三日月が描かれています。


右胸にはレザー製の爆撃マークの書かれたパッチが取り付けられています。
右肩には星条旗のペイント。
