The Birth of Tutima Glashütte/SA

Tutima's predecessor was a watch factory founded in Glashütte, Germany, in 1845.
Later, watchmakers trained by Ferdinand Adolph Lange, known as the
father of German watchmaking, each went on to establish their own
independent workshops and watch companies, producing purely
German-made watches.

In 1926, led by lawyer Dr. Ernst Kurz, Glashütte's watch factories
were reorganized and merged.
In 1927, new companies (UROFA and UFAG) were founded, and they began
producing higher-quality watches that rivaled Swiss brands.
The highest-precision watches produced in Glashütte by UROFA and UFAG
at the time were given the title "TUTIMA," derived from the Latin
adjective "tutus," meaning "safe."
In 1945, towards the end of World War II, just before East German
occupation, Dr. Kurz, a lawyer and key figure in the Glashütte watch
industry, and executives from UROFA and UFAG relocated to Ganderkesee,
a town near Bremen in Lower Saxony in western Germany.

The meticulous technology and innovative spirit they had built in
Glashütte, combined with their traditional watchmaking knowledge,
created a new success story.

Their technology and spirit have been carried on by Dieter Derecate
since the 1960s, and continue to this day.

While the production and sales of watches using movements from other
companies continues, Derecate's management skills have also helped the
company survive the quartz crisis of the 1970s, and in 1983 the
company was renamed TUTIMA, where it continues to this day.

Tutima Glashütte/SA Valjoux 7750 Chronograph Movement
This chronograph from the 2000s is made by Tutima, a watch
manufacturer in Glashütte, Germany.
While the manufacturer once supplied precision mission watches to the
German Luftwaffe, this chronograph seems to have been designed to
attract new customers and capture the trends of the times, influenced
by Swiss chronographs and in keeping with the global rise of
mechanical watch movements.

The design of this watch differs from the typical Tutima military
watch aesthetic, embodying similar design codes to iconic Swiss
chronographs. However, looking at this watch today, it is clear to see
that it is powered by the highly reliable Valjoux 7750 movement, a
timepiece still renowned today. With a 40mm case, robust crown and
pushers, and a thin case, it truly exudes the appeal of a robust tool
watch.


The dial is white and the sub dials are black, but the black has faded to ink over time. The indexes are bars, and each index has a dot index, which has also turned cream. There is still a little luminous paint remaining and it glows in the dark.


I believe the luminous material is tritium. The crystal is plastic and has some scratches, but visibility is not affected. The crystal is domed, giving it a classic feel. The bezel is polished steel. The tachymeter lettering is engraved. It is a very elaborately crafted piece.

The chronograph hands are black. While a similar model with red
chronograph hands is also available, this simple color scheme is easy
to use and simple. The pushers have a locking mechanism to prevent
accidental operation. The large crown can be operated even while
wearing gloves.


The bracelet is the original three-link bracelet. The center links
have a mirrored finish, giving it a slightly elegant look. The buckle
is double-locking.


This time, we are offering a black NATO-style nylon strap to
complement this sporty tool watch. This NATO strap features black
matte hardware. We recommend this strap for its moderate nylon
stiffness and excellent water resistance. It offers a different feel
to the Phoenix G-10, and the more you wear it, the more its patina
improves.


It currently works perfectly. The daily rate is about 1 minute, and
the chronograph works perfectly. There are no issues with resetting to
zero. Since there are no issues with normal use at present, we are
selling this watch in its current condition. We recommend an overhaul
in the future. We will have it overhauled by one of Japan's top
vintage watch repair shops. After the overhaul, we offer a six-month
warranty, and a detailed repair invoice is included, so please rest
assured. Please allow approximately two months for delivery.

Tutima Glashütte/SAの誕生

チュチマ社の前身は1845年にドイツ・グラスヒュッテに創設された時計工場です。
後にドイツ時計産業の父と呼ばれるフェルナンド・アドルフ・ランゲにより育てられた時計職人達はそれぞれが独立し、 工房や時計会社を設立、純ドイツ製時計の製作を開始しました。


1926年、法律家ドクター・エルンスト・クルツが先頭に立ち、グラスヒュッテの時計工場は再編・合併します。
1927年に新会社(UROFA社・UFAG社)が設立されてスイスブランドにも負けない、より高品質な時計生産が始まりました。


当時のUROFA社・UFAG社によりグラスヒュッテで製作された最高精度の時計には、
ラテン語で「安全な」のtutusという形容詞に由来する「TUTIMA」の称号が付けられました。
1945年、第二次大戦末期、東ドイツ占領下となる直前、グラスヒュッテ時計産業の中心人物で法律家であったドクター・クルツと UROFA社・UFAG社の幹部達はドイツ西部、ニーダーザクセン州、ブレーメン近郊のガンダーケセという町へ移り住みました。


彼らがグラスヒュッテで築いた緻密な技術や革新を求めるスピリットそして彼らが伝統的に受け継いできた時計の知識をもとに 新しいサクセスストーリーを作り上げていきました。
彼らの技術とスピリットは1960年代よりディーター・デレケイトによって現在まで引き継がれています。


他社のムーブメントを採用した時計製造と販売部門は継続、デレカーテ氏の経営手腕は その後の70年代クォーツショックをも乗り越え1983年、社名をTUTIMA（チュチマ）社とし現在に至ります。

Tutima Glashütte/SA Valjoux 7750 Chronograph Movement


ドイツグラスヒュッテの時計メーカーTutima製の2000年代のクロノグラフ。
かつてはドイツ軍ルフトヴァッフェ用に精密なミッション用時計を供給していたメーカーですが、機械式時計のムーブメントが世界に起こったこの時代に、スイス製クロノグラフの影響を受けさらには新たな顧客拡大もしくは時代の潮流を読んだような時計としてこのクロノグラフは企画された気がします。


時計のデザインはチュチマ製の通常の軍用時計然とした佇まいとは違い、スイスを代表するクロノグラフと似たデザインコードを表現しています。しかしながら、今にしてこの時計を見てみると内部機械には信頼性の高いバルジュー製の7750という名機として現代でもその名を馳せるムーブメントを搭載し、ケースサイズ40mm、堅牢なリューズとプッシャーを配置し、ケース厚も薄く仕上げてあり、堅牢なツールウォッチとしての魅力が相当にある時計と言えるでしょう。


ダイヤルはホワイト、インダイヤルはブラックですが、経年変化によってブラックカラーは墨色にカラーフェイドしています。インデックスはバー　各インデックスにはドットインデックスもありますが、こちらもクリーム色に変化しています。夜光塗料はまだ少し残っていて暗所ですと光ります。夜光はトリチウムではないかと思います。風防はプラスチックで傷などありますが視認性に問題はありません。風防はドームでクラシカルな風合いがございます。ベゼルはスティールでポリッシュされています。タキメーターの文字は掘り込み。とても手の込んだ造りになっています。


パンダと称されるダイヤルは、このモデルがスポーティーな出自をもっている上、その抜群の視認性をも見て取れます。クロノグラフ針はブラック。レッドのクロノグラフ針をもつ同モデルも存在しますが、このシンプルな配色が使いやすいシンプルなものと言えます。プッシャーは誤動作を防止するロック機能をもっています。大型のリューズはドライブ時にグローブをしたままでも操作できます。


ブレスレットは純正の3連の配置のブレス。中央のコマは鏡面であり、ややエレガントな雰囲気を持ちます。バックルはダブルロック。


今回、このスポーティーなツールウォッチに合うブラックカラーのNATOスタイルのナイロンベルトを合わせて販売します。このNATOベルトはブラックの艶消し金具を取り付けています。ナイロンの硬さがほどよく、水捌けにも優れた弊店推奨のベルトです。フェニックスG-10とはまた違う付け心地のNATOです。使い込めば使い込むほど風合いの増すNATOベルトです。


現状での動作に異常はありません。日差は1分程度、クロノグラフ動作異常ありません。帰零も問題ありません。現状通常使用に問題ございませんので現状のコンディションでの販売です。将来的にはオーバーホールを推奨いたします。弊店から国内トップクラスのヴィンテージウォッチ修理工房にオーバーホールを依頼致します。オーバーホール後は半年の保証期間を設けており、詳細な修理明細書も付属しますのでご安心下さい。納期は約2か月を頂戴致します。
