Aeroleather A-2 jacket worn by an airman of the 95th Bombardment Group, 8th Air Force

The 95th Bombardment Group began strategic bombing operations in July 1943, and its objectives included ports, rail yards, and other industrial targets in addition to attacks on cities.

On August 17, 1943, during an attack on an aircraft factory in Regensburg, Germany, the squadron received its first Distinguished Unit Citation for maintaining a defensive formation despite heavy enemy interceptor attacks. On October 10, during an attack on a rail yard in Münster, Germany, the squadron came under heavy fighter fire on the approach to the target and heavy flak over the target. For withstanding these attacks and bombing the target, the squadron received its second Distinguished Unit Citation.

From February 20 to 25, 1944, the group participated in the Big Week offensive against the German aircraft manufacturing industry. A few days later, on 4 March, the squadron attacked Berlin despite bad weather that forced other units to abandon the mission or attack secondary targets. Despite blizzards and heavy cloud cover, the unit attacked its targets while under attack from enemy fighters.

The group was diverted to bombing priority tactical targets, attacking communications and coastal defense installations during the preparation and execution of Operation Overlord, the Normandy landings in June 1944; attacking enemy troop concentrations to facilitate the Allied breakout at Saint-Lô; and bombing airfields in support of Operation Varsity, the airborne assault across the Rhine in March.

The 95th Bombardment Squadron attacked enemy troop concentrations during the Battle of the Bulge from December 1944 to January 1945. One of the unit's most unusual missions was a flight on September 18, 1944, when they led the 13th Fighter-Bomber Wing [18] to Warsaw, dropping ammunition, food, and medicines to the Polish Resistance forces fighting the German occupying forces.

Material: horsehide. Brown finish.

The leather is in excellent condition. It has a slightly dark color.

The zipper is made by KWIK. This model is relatively rare. It works well and is in very good condition. There is no abnormality in the zipper end. The knit ribbing on the sleeves and waist is also in good condition. The sleeve ribbing is made of Aero Leather and has a strong reddish color.

The tag is still attached. The lining is also in excellent condition.

There is paint on the back. A beautiful original with a tropical design.

95th Bombardment Groupは1943年7月に戦略爆撃作戦を開始し、その目標には、都市への攻撃に加えて、港、操車場、その他の産業目標が含まれていました。

1943年8月17日、ドイツのレーゲンスブルクにある航空機工場への攻撃の際、同飛行隊は敵の迎撃機による激しい攻撃にもかかわらず防御陣形を維持したことで最初の殊勲部隊表彰を受けました。10月10日、ドイツのミュンスターにある操車場への攻撃中、同飛行隊は目標への接近中に戦闘機による集中攻撃と目標上空の激しい高射砲火にさらされました。 これらの攻撃に耐えて目標を爆撃したことで、2度目の殊勲部隊表彰を受賞します。

グループは、1944年6月のノルマンディー上陸作戦であるオーバーロード作戦の準備と実行中に、通信施設と沿岸防衛施設を攻撃する優先戦術目標の爆撃に転用されました。サン・ローでの連合軍の突破を容易にするため、敵軍の集結地を攻撃。第95爆撃隊は、 1944年12月から1945年1月にかけてのバルジの戦いで敵軍の集結地を攻撃し、 3月のライン川越えの空挺攻撃であるヴァーシティ作戦を支援するため飛行場を爆撃します。


この部隊の最も珍しい任務の一つは、1944年9月18日の飛行であり、第13戦闘爆撃航空団[ 18 ]を率いてワルシャワに行き、ドイツ占領軍と戦うポーランドレジスタンス軍に弾薬、食料、医薬品を投下しました。

レザーの状態は大変すばらしいコンディションです。やや黒みの強いカラーです。


ジッパーはKWIK製。このモデルが搭載されるのは比較的珍しいです。動作は良好でとても状態の良いものです。ジッパーエンドにも異常はありません。袖とウエストのニットリブも良好です。袖リブはエアローレザー製らしく赤みの強いカラーが特徴です。


タグも残っています。ライニングもコンディションは極上です。
