Vintage OMEGA Seamaster Ref.166.010 "AMBER"

The Omega Seamaster has its roots in British military watches from the 1940s. Specifically, it's a military Omega watch equipped with a hand-wound 30mm caliber, of which over 110,000 were supplied. Based on the structure of this military Omega, the Seamaster series uses various high-precision calibers to enhance water resistance.

Starting with the first model featuring a small-seconds half-rotor caliber, it evolved into models like the center-seconds CK2577, developing a wide variety of variations. Even before the Seamaster was developed specifically for diving (such as the Combat Diver), many Seamaster models were released that retained the dressy appearance of the first model while still possessing water resistance. These water-resistant watches, developed from military use, expanded their variations to meet a wide range of needs.

This Omega Seamaster is a model born from this background. In particular, this watch features a large 35mm case for its time. The proportions of the thick lugs are characteristic of vintage Seamasters. The case is made of stainless steel. The caliber is an OMEGA Cal 562 automatic movement. It's a copper-colored movement.

The black dial has transformed into an "amber" color.

Originally black or gray, the dial has undergone a remarkable transformation to an amber color.

Depending on the angle of the light, the dial appears either predominantly gray or a vibrant copper color.

The Omega logo is applied. It features bar indices. The lettering is crisp and clear without any blurring. The hands are also of high quality, with thick, robust hands. The case back is a screw-down type. The case has minor scratches, but minimal polishing, retaining its original shape. The crown is also original with the Omega logo.

The included strap is a vintage nylon strap.

The power reserve is excellent, reaching three days, and the daily variation is approximately one minute. It is being sold as-is.

オメガシーマスターは1940年代のイギリス軍用時計をルーツにもちます。すなわち手巻き30mmキャリバーを備え、11万個以上供給された軍用オメガウオッチです。この軍用オメガの構造をベースとして、精度の高い様々なキャリバーを用い防水性を高めたシリーズがシーマスターです。



スモールセコンドのハーフローターキャリバーを搭載した1stモデルから始まり、センターセコンドCK2577などへ発展し多種多様のバリエーションを展開していきます。完全なるダイビング用（コンバットダイバーなど）に開発されたシーマスター登場以前に、防水機構はもちつつ1stモデル以来のドレスタイプの外観をもつシーマスターも多数発表されています。軍用から発展した防水時計は、あらゆるニーズにこたえられるようにバリエーションを増やしていったのです。



このオメガシーマスターもこのような背景から生まれたモデルです。なかでもこの時計は当時としては大振りな35mmケース。 太いラグのプロポーションはVintage シーマスターの特徴とも言えるでしょう。ケースはステンレススティール。キャリバーはOMEGA Cal 562 オートマチックムーブメント。コパカラーの機械です。



「琥珀」色に変化したブラックダイヤル


もともとはブラックかグレーであった文字盤はAmber色に見事な変化を遂げています。

光のあたる角度によってグレーが強かったり、鮮やかなコパカラーにも見えるダイヤル。


オメガマークはアップライトになっています。バーインデックス。レタリングは滲みもなくくっきりとした書体です。ハンズも上質な作りで太く力強い針が使われています。裏蓋はスクリューバック。ケースには小傷がありますが研磨は少なく、当時のシェイプを残しています。リューズももちろんオメガマークのある純正です。



付属するベルトはヴィンテージナイロンストラップ。
