A watch from Swiss watchmaker Alpina.


Alpina, which has a long history, once had a factory in Germany, and is known as a manufacturer that developed and sold a variety of watches among Swiss watch companies. This simple watch that looks like a military watch at first glance is a sports watch that has the structure of a full-fledged military watch. Slightly slim lugs and a case with straight cut sides give it a rugged look. The thin but large crown is easy to operate, making it practical to wind the watch and set the time even while wearing gloves.
One of the charms of vintage watches is the case, which gives off a dull glow due to aging.


The most attractive feature of this watch is the dial. The dial with the small seconds dial was initially black. Due to the passage of time, the storage conditions at the time, and the paint used at the time of production, the black color on the surface has peeled off, revealing a metallic base and changing to a brownish color. Depending on the time and where the watch is placed, this dial can appear gray or brown. These days, they are called aging dials, tropical dials, or brown change dials, and you probably know that people like the unique aging of these dials. The luminous paint on the Arabic numerals no longer glows, but you can see the passage of time by seeing a color change occurring around the letters.


The caliber used is Cal.592, which is considered a masterpiece. This machine was installed on many models from the 1940s. If you look at the movement and the internal structure of the case, you can also get a glimpse of the details of a military watch. As the engraving on the case back says ANTIMAGNETIQUE, an inner case is inserted inside the case to protect the movement from dust and prevent it from becoming magnetized. The double-layered case interior protects the movement and has a robust structure. These construction details are found in military watches from the 1940s. The case lug width is 18mm. The design allows the use of spring bars, so regular belts and pull-through belts can also be used.
This time, we have set a 16mm olive green belt made of cotton. Due to its compatibility with the belt, it is designed to create a more military watch atmosphere.

スイスの時計メーカーAlpinaのウオッチ。


長い歴史のあるアルピナ社は一時期にはドイツに工場を構え、スイスの時計会社の中でもさまざまな時計を開発し販売したメーカーとして知られます。この一見軍用時計にも見えるシンプルな時計は、構造的にも本格的な軍用時計の構造もみられるスポーツウオッチです。ややスリムなラグと、サイドをストレートに切り取ったようなケースが無骨な表情を見せています。薄いが大型のリューズも操作性がよく、グローブをしたままでも巻き上げや時刻合わせができる実用性をもっています。
経年の変化によって、すごみのある鈍い光を放つケースはヴィンテージウオッチの魅力と言えます。



何よりこの時計の魅力はダイヤルでしょう。スモールセコンドを備えた文字盤は、生産当初はブラックの文字盤でした。永い時間の経過と当時の保管状況、さらに生産当時の塗料の関係からか、表面のブラックカラーは剥げ落ち、金属感のある下地が顔を見せさらにブラウンがかった色味に変化しています。時間と時計の置かれた場所によって、この文字盤はグレーに見えたりブラウンに見えたりと多彩に変化します。最近ではエイジングダイヤル、トロピカルダイヤル、またブラウンチェンジダイヤルなどと呼ばれ、唯一無二のこうしたダイヤルの経年変化が好まれているのはご存じでしょう。アラビア数字の夜光塗料はすでに光りませんが、文字周辺にもカラーチェンジが起こっていて時間の経過を見てとれます。



キャリバーは名機とされるCal.592が使用されています。1940年代の多くのモデルに搭載された機械です。ムーブメントとケース内部の構造を見ると、ここにも軍用時計のディティールが垣間見えます。ケースバックの刻印にあるようにANTIMAGNETIQUEとあるように、ケース内部にはムーブメントを防塵保護し、帯磁を防ぐためのインナーケースが挿入されています。２重構造のケース内部がしっかりとムーブメントを守り、堅牢な構造になっています。これらの構造は1940年代の軍用時計に見られるディテールです。ケースのラグ幅は18mm。ばね棒を使用できる設計ですので、通常のベルトや引き通しのベルトも使用頂けます。
今回はコットン製の16mmのオリーブグリーンのベルトをセットしています。ベルトとの適合性から、よりミリタリーウオッチの雰囲気を醸し出す仕様に致しております。



文字盤、ケース、針など軍用の意匠も垣間見える時計ですが、軍用ではありません。稼働良好で巻き上げも良好で普段使いできるコンディション。ケースバックはスクリューバックです。ヴィンテージウォッチですので、防水性は防汗程度とお考え下さい。





コンディションにおける注意事項

裏蓋は開閉に伴う傷や開閉された痕も見て取れます。ケースには打ち傷もございます。風防に傷はありません。ミドルケースは打ち傷や小傷があるものの、研磨は少なく本来のファットなシェイプを維持しています。
