Vintage Tudor Prince Oyster date

The Tudor brand was established in the UK with the aim of expanding the sales channels and promoting sales for its parent company, Rolex.

By using Rolex parts for the case, crown, and bracelet, and employing inexpensive, mass-produced movements, production costs were kept down.

Despite using inexpensive movements, the accuracy was excellent, and Tudor watches using Rolex parts gained popularity, leading to the creation of many unique designs that Rolex could not achieve.

The 1969 Prince Oyster date is known as a popular model representing Tudor, featuring the famous rose motif indices. The 12 o'clock index, later standardized to the Tudor family's "shield" motif, was proudly adorned with the rose crest indices on older Tudor models.

The black dial has a matte texture, and the indices feature a wedge motif.

At the time, silver dials were the mainstream, so existing black dials are refinished.

The hands are large arrow hands, and the lettering is a grayish silver.

All the date numerals are black.

The case is a Rolex Oyster waterproof case, the crown is the original with a horizontal bar on the crown, and the case back is engraved to indicate it was manufactured by Rolex.

The crystal is plastic.

The bracelet is a Rolex Oyster bracelet. It's a rivet bracelet, the type where the links are fastened with rivets.

The clasp code is 4/62, indicating that the bracelet was manufactured in April 1962. It's a Swiss-made rivet bracelet with slightly thinner links in the center, and the end links are 19mm.

The watch model number is 7966.
The serial number is difficult to read, but it is probably 68****, indicating it was manufactured in 1969. There is a slight discrepancy between the era of the bracelet and the watch case, but this is a common occurrence. The spring bars are also thick, Rolex-made ones. (Not a sports type)

It is in good working order.

ヴィンテージ　チューダー　プリンスオイスターデイト リファレンス7966

英国における親会社ロレックスの販路拡大、販売促進を狙って創設されたチューダーブランド。

ケースやリューズ、ブレスレットの外装部品にロレックス社のパーツを使用し、ムーブメントを廉価な汎用機械を用いることでコストを抑え生産されました。

廉価なムーブメントを使用しているとは言え、精度は素晴らしく外装パーツにロレックスの部品を使用したチューダーの時計は人気を得て、ロレックスでは実現できなかった独自のデザインの時計を多く作り出していきます。

プリンスオイスターデイトは有名な薔薇のモチーフのインデックスを用いられ、チューダーを代表する人気モデルとして知られています。のちにチューダー家の"盾"のモチーフに統一される12時位置のインデックス。古いチューダーのモデルには薔薇の紋章を象ったインデックスが誇らしげに取り付けられました。

ブラック文字盤はマットな質感でインデックスは楔のモチーフです。
当時はシルバー文字盤が主流であったので、現存するブラック文字盤はリフィニッシュされたものです。
針は大振りなアローハンズ、レターはグレーがかったシルバー表記。
デイトの数字はすべてブラックです。

ケースはロレックス社製のオイスター防水ケース、リューズはクラウンに横棒のオリジナル、裏蓋にはロレックス社製造品を表す刻印。
風防はプラスチックです。

ブレスレットはロレックス社製のオイスターブレスレット。リベットブレスレットと呼ばれる、コマをリベットで留めているタイプ。
クラスプコードは4/62 これはブレスレットが1962年4月の製造品であることを表しています。コマの中央がやや細いスイス製のリベットブレス、フラッシュフィットは19mmです。

時計モデルナンバーは7966
シリアルは判読しずらいですがおそらく68※※※※のシリアル。ブレスレットと本体の時代の整合性はややズレがありますが、こうした例は多いです。バネ棒もロレックス製の太いものです。（スポーツタイプではありません）

ブレスレットの長さ17.5cm(時計を含んでバックルを閉じた状態）

動作は良好です。
