The Omega Seamaster has its roots in British military watches from the 1940s. Featuring a hand-wound 30mm caliber, it was the first military Omega watch supplied with over 110,000 units. The Seamaster series, based on this military Omega watch structure and featuring a variety of highly accurate calibers, offers enhanced water resistance.

Starting with the first model equipped with a small-seconds half-rotor caliber, the Seamaster evolved into the center-seconds CK2577 and other models, resulting in a wide variety of variations. Prior to the arrival of the Seamaster, which was developed solely for diving (such as combat divers), numerous Seamasters were released that retained their waterproofing but retained the dress-style appearance of the first model. Developed from military use, waterproof watches expanded in variety to meet a wide range of needs.

The Omega Seamaster was born from this background. As mentioned above, a wide variety of Seamasters were produced, most of which were in 30mm to 34mm cases. However, this watch is a mid-size 33mm watch. While thick lugs are typically a hallmark of vintage Seamasters, this watch's lugs are slender. The case is gold-plated stainless steel. The opaque gold color and dull finish patina over time create a softer look. The case back is stainless steel. It features a snapback.

The dial features upright indices. The dial is the same gold color as the case, and features engraved guilloché. The lettering is a classic font with no smudges. The hands are also of high quality, featuring the thick, powerful hands characteristic of a Seamaster. While the case has minor scratches, it has undergone minimal polishing, preserving its original shape. The crown is also genuine and bears the Omega mark. The case back shows visible scratches and signs of use from opening and closing. There are also dents on the case.

The included leather strap matches vintage watches. It is specially ordered by our shop. It is a long, pull-through strap, but does not have a NATO-style clasp. The leather part can be used to hold any excess strap.

The extremely soft, smooth leather conforms to your wrist and will age beautifully with prolonged use.

オメガシーマスターは1940年代のイギリス軍用時計をルーツにもちます。すなわち手巻き30mmキャリバーを備え、11万個以上供給された軍用オメガウオッチです。この軍用オメガの構造をベースとして、精度の高い様々なキャリバーを用い防水性を高めたシリーズがシーマスターです。



スモールセコンドのハーフローターキャリバーを搭載した1stモデルから始まり、センターセコンドCK2577などへ発展し多種多様のバリエーションを展開していきます。完全なるダイビング用（コンバットダイバーなど）に開発されたシーマスター登場以前に、防水機構はもちつつ1stモデル以来のドレスタイプの外観をもつシーマスターも多数発表されています。軍用から発展した防水時計は、あらゆるニーズにこたえられるようにバリエーションを増やしていったのです。



このオメガシーマスターもこのような背景から生まれたモデルです。 上記のとおり、シーマスターはかなりの種類が生産されましたが、30mmから34mmサイズのケースが多いのですが、この時計も33mmのミッドサイズ。通常、太いラグのプロポーションはVintage シーマスターの特徴とも言えますが、この時計のラグは細目の形になっています。ケースはステンレススティールにゴールドメッキ。経年変化によって白濁したゴールド色、くすんだ表情が柔らかな雰囲気を出しています。ケースバックはステンレススティールです。スナップバック。

ダイヤルはインデックスがアップライトになっています。ケース同様のゴールドカラーの文字盤。さらに彫り込みギョウシェの文字盤になっています。レタリングは滲みもなくクラシカルな書体です。ハンズも上質な作りでシーマスターらしい太く力強い針が使われています。ケースには小傷がありますが研磨は少なく、当時のシェイプを残しています。リューズももちろんオメガマークのある純正です。裏蓋は開閉に伴う傷や開閉された痕も見て取れます。ケースには打ち傷もございます。


付属するベルトはヴィンテージ時計にマッチするレザーベルト。当店がオーダーしているベルトです。ロングタイプの引き通しベルトですが、NATOのような金具はありません。レザーのパーツを使用して余ったベルトを保持できます。

非常に柔らかで、スムーズなレザーは腕にしっとりと馴染んでくれます。長くご使用頂くことでエイジングも期待できます。
