Vintage Seiko Landmaster, circa 1993

This was the first model to lead to the titanium Landmaster used in the later solo crossing of the Arctic Ocean on foot.

This field watch for adventurers, known as the "King of the Land," is a monumental model that embodies Seiko's technological advancements of the time.

Seiko's KINETIC movement (a system that stores energy from wrist movement to power the movement) eliminates the need for battery replacement.

This power system, called AGS, had a major influence on subsequent Seiko watch movements.


In addition to its reliable movement, the LANDMASTER features a rotating bezel with a 360-degree compass display and an intricate design, a feature characteristic of land tool watches.


The case itself is a robust, one-piece construction, created using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology, jointly developed by Seiko Epson and Kawasaki Steel.


This makes it the world's first one-piece stainless steel case made using MIM technology.

With a precision-sculpted bezel compass, a battery-free kinetic movement, a robust one-piece stainless steel case, and a highly legible black dial, this is truly a tool watch designed for polar adventurers.

後年、北極海単独徒歩横断で使用されたチタン製ランドマスターにつながるファーストモデル。

陸の王者と呼ばれるこの冒険者用のフィールドウォッチは、セイコーの当時の技術を結集した記念碑的モデルと言えるでしょう。

電池交換が不要なセイコーのKINETIC キネティックムーブメント（腕の動作を蓄電しムーブメントを稼働されるシステム）AGSと呼ばれるこの動力システムは、後のセイコーウォッチのムーブメントに大きな影響を及ぼしました。信頼性の高いムーブメントとともに、LAND
MASTERの陸上用ツールウォッチの特徴である、簡易方位計仕様の複雑な造形をもつ360度方位表示の回転ベゼルをもちます。

ケース本体も堅牢なワンピース構造をもっており、セイコーエプソンと川崎製鉄の共同開発によるMIM　Metal Injection Molding 技術によって生まれたものです。
これによって世界初のMIM技術によるステンレス製ワンピース構造ケースを用いています。

精密造形ベゼル方位計、電池が不要なキネティックムーブメント、堅牢なワンピースステンレスケース、視認性に優れたブラックダイヤルをもつまさに冒険者による極地使用を前提としたツールウォッチと言えます。
