NOS 1940s U.S. NAVY Decontamination outfit Gas protective parka

Navy gas protective parka, white color, cotton material.

Used with dedicated trousers as part of the U.S. Navy's Decontamination outfit system. An item developed from the button-up type.

Large hood, NAVY MkIII
and MkIV gas masks were attached and used when working on hazardous material removal work. The gas mask facepiece was worn using the thick tab at the back of the hood and the sturdy string, and the canister was attached to the back of the neck.

Recently, it has been called a gunner smock, but it was worn when it was expected that toxic substances such as gas would be generated. Occasionally, there are dyed ones, but this is a specification at the site so that the work commander on deck can distinguish at a glance the work department of the crew wearing each color. It is unknown whether it was diverted to deck crew, etc.

The condition is new old stock with no signs of wear.

There are no missing parts.
It is immaculate and perfect for collection or wear.

ネイビーガスプロテクティブパーカー　ホワイトカラー、コットンマテリアル。

米海軍のDecontamination outfitシステムとして専用トラウザースとともに使用されました。ボタン止めのタイプから発展したアイテム。
大型のフード、危険物除去作業などに従事する際にNAVY MkIII
およびMkIVガスマスクを取り付け使用しました。フード後部の厚手のタブと頑強な紐を使用してガスマスク面体をかぶり、キャニスターを後部の首元に装着出来ました。

最近ではガナースモックなどと呼ばれますが、ガス等の有毒物質発生が予想される場合に着用されたものです。時折色染めされた個体が存在しますが、これは色ごとに着用した隊員の作業部門を甲板上の作業指揮官が一目で区別できるための現場における仕様です。デッキクルーなどに流用されたかは不明です。

コンディションは着用感のないニューオールドストックです。
パーツの欠損はありません。
汚れもなく、コレクションにも着用にも適しています。
